Premiere: S.P.Y declares he's 'Always Yours' with a growling remix

Macca & Loz Contreras first hooked up in 2014 with the 'Always Your Lover' EP in 2014. That release is a four-tracker of smooth, sweet-as-honey drum 'n' bass, infected with copious amounts of soul.

Three years on and the Leeds/Portsmouth duo are releasing their debut album 'Better World' on Fokuz Recordings. Most of the LP runs in line with their crooning brand of liquid funk, with grunting tracks like 'Switch' thrown in to shake the mood up.

Lenzman and S.P.Y (pictured) are the remixers involved, with the latter reworking 'Always Yours', a track taken from the 'Always Your Lover' EP. The Brazilian's no slouch when it comes to remixing. His take on Submotion Orchestra's 'All Yours' is a goosebump-inducing d'n'b classic and feelings of glee arise from his newest one, too.

The bassline might be razor-sharp and growling, but the echoed vocals and subtle twinkles ensure it puts you in a dream-like state.
