Premiere: Julia Govor mystifies with her acid-drenched '5000 Moments'
The title track off her Akkult EP
You've done a well job of hiding under a rock if you haven't yet heard of Julia Govor, the Russian native and Brooklyn-based producer who has stomped her way up and into the ranks in one of electronic music's toughest genres to crack.
After most recently manning her station at the inaugural Mixmag Live in the US alongside Richie Hawtin, Louie Vega and Matador at Output in Brooklyn, Julia now launches into 2017 with a set of tracks that she presents as her '5000 Moments' EP.
Out soon on the Budapest-based Akkult exclusively on vinyl, Govor has handed us the title tune of her three-track EP, an alluring and mechanic song that folds deeply into classic acid undertones. But of course, with the touch of the nouveau producer, '5000 Moments' reintroduces techno with a modern flair, unique to that of Julia Govor.
Along with 'Drama C' and 'Mathew I Got Your Shakers', her EP is due out soon as a vinyl-only release. Later, look out for a remix of 'Mathew I Got Your Shakers' from outstanding Budapest music composer Andras Toth.
