Premiere: Joy Kitikonti electrifies UMM's return with 'Snow in the Desert'
The label is back with a vengeance thanks to this Italian producer's new EP
Tuscan-born producer Joy Kitikonti is playing a big role in the return of Underground Music Movement's return after a 10-year hiatus, contributing his five-track EP as the second release on the revived label.
Originally founded in 1991, the Naples-based label was one of Italy's leading underground imprints, overseeing releases from legendary acts like Daft Punk, Visnadi, Glenn Underground and many more. Now, starting in 2017, the label is back and refreshed, ready to launch back into the scene with a slew of impactful releases.
'Snow in the Desert' is the title-track of the EP, showcasing Kitikonti's precise production abilities through its measured, cinematic tones and punching electrified breakdowns.
Kitikonti's release arrives with two other originals and remix efforts from Ten Words and the exciting newcomer, Aurel Asllanaj. 'Snow in the Desert' is out on May 5 on UMM.
