Premiere: Huerta debuts on Let's Play House with 'Damn Shame (Dub)'
An emotive groove found on the forthcoming 'LK Tapes' EP
Huerta, aka Steve Huerta, lines up his first release on the Brooklyn based Let’s Play House imprint with a four track EP dubbed ‘LK Tapes’, including the airy house gem titled ‘Damn Shame (Dub)’.
As a Berlin-based producer by way of Los Angeles, Huerta sought to immerse himself in a community that complimented his approach to dance music, and this is reflected in the quality output of his original productions.
With ‘Damn Shame (Dub)’, a hazy house track that features longtime collaborator Yooj, Huerta presents a stripped back, smooth yet soulful motif that’s highlighted by subtle funk riffs. It’s a tune that has the ability to hypnotize the listener, lifting one up in a dusty cloud of steady rhythm.
Huerta’s ‘LK Tapes’ EP is set for release on February 3 for vinyl and February 17 for digital. Pre-order the vinyl here and listen to ‘Damn Shame (Dub) (feat. Yooj)’ below.
