DRS feat Calibre
DRS and Calibre team up for a gleaming piece of d'n'b
Not many drum 'n' bass MCs have had as much of an illustrious career as DRS.
The sharp-shooting Mancunian's worked with a shed load of producers over the years, from LTJ Bukem (including an Essential Mix from Cream in 1996) and Lenzman to Marcus Intalex and Calibre. Plus countless times holding fort at d'n'b raves all around the world.
His close ties to Intalex resulted in debut album 'I Don't Usually Like MCs But..." on Soul:r back in 2012 and he's back soon with a new one, 'Mid Mic Crisis'. So far we've heard the LSB-produced'The View' with Tyler Daley, dubby Marcus Intalex-featuring 'Emergency' and the grumbling Jubei collaboration 'The Puppeteer'.
Who's on the next one, then? Liquid d'n'b king Calibre with 'Something To Believe In', that's who. It's a certified soulful beauty, shimmering and gleaming, with DRS accompanying the skittering percussion and gorgeous piano chords with the most gentle of vocals.
'Mid Mic Crisis' is out on Soul:r on March 30. Pre-order it here
