Premiere: Cowboy Rhythmbox unleash stomping EBM

Early on in his career Richard X proved adept at combining the work of two artists, releasing a string of brilliantly crafted mashups meshing the likes of Gary Numan with Adina Howard, and Kraftwerk with Whitney Houston.

It came as no surprise, then, that combining his talents with those of Nathan Gregory Wilkins with the launch of collaborative project Cowboy Rhythmbox in 2014 produced stellar results.

‘Rattle’ and ‘Fantasma’ from the duo’s first two 12”s that arrived through Phantasy became ubiquitous fixtures in the sets of many of Europe’s finest upon release, given regular rotation by DJs spanning Job Jobse to John Digweed.

Next up Cowboy Rhythmbox are putting out their third Phantasy EP in as many years, with ‘Mécanique Sauvage’ due to land next Friday. The title-track translates as “wild mechanics”, which sums up the heavy-duty and haywire sound of this EBM-bassline fuelled stomper. Check it out below.
