Premiere: Ben Pearce returns to uplift you with a prickly house cut
'Crescent' is out on February 10 on Different Recordings
It's refreshing to be covering Ben Pearce in a music-related capacity following him revealing his struggle with depression.
The DJ and producer had to take time away from touring last year to seek professional help, but now he's back on the road doing what he does best and has a new EP on the way. 'Ascension', his first material since 2015's 'Nothing Ever Hurts' collaboration with Shadow Child, is the first EP of a four-part concept series exploring Ben's life and career.
Throughout the four tracks, Ben serves up a soothing ambience ('Intro'), sizzling buoyancy ('Transit'), arpeggio-fueled pace ('The Middle' and a beaming uplifter in the form of 'Crescent'. Synths fizz and pads whirr their way through the EP closer for nearly six minutes, creating a prickly house cut that'll quickly inject you with the feel-good factor.
