Playboi Carti - real name Jordan Terrell Carter - has been arrested following an alleged case of assault against his pregnant girlfriend.

According to TMZ, who obtained the arrest affidavit, Carter allegedly pushed and choked his 14-week pregnant girlfriend whom he's lived with for two years, according to reports, after a dispute over a paternity test in December.

The woman told police that she thought she was going to die when Carter grabbed her by the neck and held her, telling officers that she could “barely breathe”.

The alleged incident took place on December 20 in Georgia, where a passer-by claims to have stepped in to help the woman when things allegedly escalated. The witness tried to break up the fight, per the police report.

Carter’s girlfriend allegedly managed to escape his grip and ran to their car, where she claims he assaulted her again by putting his hands over her mouth and attempted to pull her out while she used the car’s SOS button.

According to the report obtained by TMZ, police arrived shortly after where they said that the woman had “visible injuries to her neck, chest, and back area”.

Carter has now been arrested on a felony charge of aggravated assault following the alleged December 20 incident.

In an email to TMZ, Carter’s lawyer, Brian Steel, said: “Mr. Carter was falsely accused. Pursuant to my communications with the Fulton County District Attorney‘s office, this case will be dismissed without any prosecution or litigation.”
