Plans unveiled for 4,000-capacity events venue in Milton Keynes

Plans have been unveiled for a "world-class" 4,000-capacity music venue in Milton Keynes.

According to BBC News, the venue will be located at the Old Bus Station, Elder Gate, and is expected to cost around £76 million to build, with investment coming from the Milton Keynes Development Partnership (MKDP).

Once work is completed, which the MKDP estimates could be sometime in 2029, the 4,000-capacity venue will be operated by ATG Entertainment (ATG) — one of the world's biggest theatre companies.

While ATG specialises in stage shows - including Kit Kat Club, a version of hit musical Cabaret at London's Playhouse Theatre - BBC News reports that the production company has said that the new venue will allow for "larger-scale music performances and live experiences".

The MKDP says that the new venue could attract an additional 300,000 visitors to Milton Keynes per year, and create 70 new jobs. MKDP Chair Nicola Sawford told BBC News in a statement: "The venue will not only bring incredible live entertainment to the heart of the city but also boost the local economy, create jobs, and strengthen Milton Keynes' reputation as a destination for music, culture, and events."
