Phonox fundraiser party set up to support Lenzman amidst cancer battle
The Metalheadz artist recently stopped treatment for stage three terminal cancer
A fundraiser party has been set up to support drum ‘n’ bass artist Lenzman and his family after he recently stopped cancer treatment.
The event is slated to go ahead at London’s Phonox from 4:PM until 10:PM on Saturday, June 6, with "all proceeds" made from the party going directly to Lenzman, real name Teije van Vliet, and his family.
It follows the recent news that Lenzman, who was diagnosed with kidney cancer in January 2023, has now stopped treatment for stage three terminal cancer.
In late April, Lenzman’s record label The North Quarter shared a statement, explaining: "Sadly treatment has stopped, which means there is not a great deal of time left."
"He is at home trying to finish an album with Redeyes and keep the label moving as best he can," they wrote, asking fans for help by supporting the label on Bandcamp.
The fundraiser party will bring together "artists from across the scene to show their love and respect for Lenzman", and will feature the "full North Quarter crew".
Other acts due to perform include DJ Flight, LSB, Workforce and GLXY, with more to be announced in the lead-up to the event. They confirmed that all artists will play for free.
"For those unable to make it to the event in person, there will be a ‘non attendance’ ticket for purchase, for those who also wish to donate but cannot attend," they explained.
