Pharrell wants to collaborate with Kaytranada
Fingers crossed that the two artists make this a reality
Kaytranada has been a busy producer over the past few months, working on quality outputs from Nick Murphy (AKA Chet Faker) plus singing duties on Kendrick Lamar's acclaimed 'DAMN.' album. Now, it looks like a Pharrell collaboration could be next.
On his Beats1 show OTHERtone Radio, Pharrell brought in the producer to chat him up and propose working on a Haiti-influenced EP together as a homage to Kaytranada's own Haitian roots. "You show me Haitian music so I can make it musically. Then I'll give it to you and you can fuck it up and do whatever you want to do and take it somewhere else. Let's just do it, and find sick Haitian artists to sing on it."
Kaytranada seems surprised by the seriousness of Pharrell's proposal, but bashfully accepts, saying he's "sure it could work well".
