Pharrell is producing a horror movie about being trapped in a rave
A group of friends must fight for their lives at a warehouse party
Pharrell Williams is venturing into the film industry to produce a horror movie about being trapped in a rave on Halloween.
Announced via The Hollywood Reporter, Pharrell has linked with Tracy Oliver, writer of the comedy Girls Trip, to develop the new thriller which is based off Danielle Vega’s novel titled Survive The Night.
The plot for the film focuses on a group of female college students on Halloween night who are attending an “underground warehouse music festival”. Things take a turn for the worse at the event as “they must fight for their lives against a mysterious attacker who hunts them down”.
Music will play a major role in the film, which has been picked up by Warner Bros. Pharrell most recently worked as a music supervisor on the Oscar-nominated movie Hidden Figures.
Also attached to the project is Mimi Valdes, Pharrell’s partner at I Am Other Entertainment, as well as Leslie Morgenstein and Elysa Dutton of Alloy Entertainment.
