Paul Van Dyk has opened up about his progressing recovery following a life-threatening fall that occurred in February of this year.

Van Dyk fell from a stage at A State Of Trance Utrecht and sustained a number of severe injuries including a broken spine and brain trauma.

For the first five months, the German artist spent his recovery in a wheelchair and had to re-learn how to eat, speak and walk.

The rehabilitation program is ongoing and will continue through his upcoming shows and releases. "[It’s] still a long way until I’m at the point where I want to be -- and the point that I came from".

Van Dyk is maintaining a positive outlook, however, with plans to put out his new album in 2017 and a schedule that sees him playing in Europe, Ibiza and next week's EDC Vegas for his first return performance since the incident.
