This is a divine eight-track collection of cosmic techno funk. 'Euphorium' is a masterpiece, and we don't use that word lightly. Coming from a Detroit legend such as Patrice this is hardly a surprise – every track is on point, exuding class and panache. From opener 'A Detroit State Of Mind', its minimal composition supported by the gentle thud of a kick, to the more morose, mysterious storytelling on 'The Dark Dance' (ETA mix) the bright, jolly feeling on 'Hysteria' or the restrained funky vibes on 'Euphonium' (ETA dub), it's compelling and enjoyable from start to finish. This is more than worthy of our Album Of The Month title, and one of the best LPs we've heard so far this year.
