Pacha New York, the newly rebranded Williamsburg venue formerly known as Brooklyn Mirage, has pledged to credit those who went without a refund for cancelled events before the beleaguered venue was forced to close.

In January, BK Mag reported that the venue was being rebranded after it was sold to Pacha parent company FIVE Holdings, revealing that it would reopen this summer following a year of closure.

The deal made the Dubai-based holdings company the new owners of both Brooklyn Mirage and the wider complex that houses the New York venue, Avant Gardner, which has faced a barrage of issues in recent years.

Pacha New York has today revealed that it will credit disgruntled ticketholders who were not refunded for scrapped events after Brooklyn Mirage filed for bankruptcy.

“New York, we heard you. We've reached out directly to everyone affected by past Brooklyn Mirage refunds,” they said in a statement. “While those weren't on us, we're stepping up anyway - because that's how the city moves.”

Pacha New York has vowed to refund “100% of the original ticket value” as coupons, which can be used across “shows, food, drinks, and merch” when the venue opens in June.

“This isn't just a fix. It's a reset. A rebuild. A return to what actually matters: the music. the energy. the people,” they said. “We're bringing it back the right way - and we can't wait to have you back where you belong: on the dancefloor. See you soon.”

It follows a turbulent period for former venue Brooklyn Mirage, whose parent company filed for bankruptcy in August last year with over $150m in funded debt obligations, and later faced part-demolition with reported plans to remove a 32,000 sq. ft area of the club.

Earlier in 2023, two people were found dead and another was allegedly kidnapped after leaving the venue. Though the venue denied responsibility, owners made plans to close temporarily in order to make $30 million worth of renovations and heighten safety measures.

With a plan to reopen in May 2025, Brooklyn Mirage reportedly failed to meet its inspection deadline so was unable to open its doors, per Brooklyn Paper.
