Australia's pioneering solar-powered, zero-waste music and arts festival Off The Grid returns to Melbourne in December with a solid line-up.

Some of the city's finest, including Andras (pictured), NO ZU, Albrecht La'Brooy, Andee Frost and J'NETT will take over the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art's Southbank forecourt on summer solstice, the 21st of the month, for the ethically-minded event's second year.

The entire day will be powered by local energy with all profits going towards a solar project aimed at speeding up Melbourne's transition into a self-sufficient city.

Organisers will again build a five-metre high solar stage, powered by a state-of-the-art battery bank, to keep the vibes rolling until after the sun sets. Tickets and info here.
