Nicolas Jaar has a new ambient record on the way
Jaar will perform the album this Tuesday in Manhattan
Nicolas Jaar has a new ambient album on the way.
The news comes after Jaar tweeted about an impromptu show in Manhattan earlier today, stating that he will “play live the majority of new ambient record”. The show will take place on October 24 at The Kitchen, a multi-disciplinary performance space that helped give rise to prominent artists such as Laurie Anderson and Steve Reich back in the ‘70s and ‘80s.
Performing two shows in one night at the venue, Nicolas Jaar will initially perform an improvised noise set for Maziyar Pahlevan and Africanus Okokon's at 6pm to support the launch of their book Sound Works / Art Works. The following performance at 9pm will feature Other People artist Patrick Higgins before Jaar launches into the performance of his new ambient album. The name and release date of this new album remain a mystery.
