Nicola Cruz has kicked off Mixmag's new residency on BBC Radio 1.

The Ecuadorian artist has turned in a DJ mix that shows exactly where his selection is at right now with an hour spanning the likes of Karima F, Evil C, Astral Travel and more.

Nicola's mix went out live on Friday night at 2am but you can of course listen back via the R1 Dance Presents portal right here.

Mixmag is curating Friday nights on BBC Radio 1 throughout September and our residency continues this Friday with an exclusive mix from South Africa's house music figurehead Shimza.

We then host Kazakhstan's techno trailblazer Nazira on September 19 and New York's self-styled house selectress Dee Diggs on September 26.
