NI Announces The Traktor Kontrol S8
Native Instruments launches a stunning new flagship for its Traktor range.
Native Instruments has launched the Traktor Kontrol S8, a new flagship for its DJ controller range. Offering a new level of software and hardware integration, the S8's control layout resembles Native Instrument's own Traktor DJ software more than ever.
One of the most striking differences to the S4, the S8 swaps the former's touch sensitive platters for two high resolution displays - echoing what you see on Traktor software. Showing tracks in crisp vector waveforms, each screen also reacts to the control you're touching, so Performance Panels will appear when using a Performance Knob.
The screens can also be used for Remix Decks, giving you more options when performing on the fly than ever before. Another new feature for any Traktor equipment, the S8 also packs in two LED guided touch strips, putting features such as pitch bending, track seeking and vinyl scratch emulation at your fingertips.
Much like the S4, the S8 also uses a 24-bit/48kHs audio interface, with four RCA inputs allowing for connection with turntables or CDJs. What's more, the S8 also includes a Midi connection, so it's possible to hook up external beatmakers like Native Instruments' Maschine.
The Traktor Kontrol S8 will be available for €1199 from October 30th.
