The staff behind Amderstam's Trouw have announced they are officially opening their new venue, De School, on January 3.

Rumours about the addition to Amsterdam's clubbing map first arose in May, with official confirmation that plans were well underway arriving in October. Now the institution's website has gone live, revealing it will open its doors next month.

Much like its predecessor, De School will stay open for five years, operating seven days a week as "a club, a music venue, a restaurant, a cafe and eventually as an exhibition space." Delightfully, it's obtained a 24-hour license and the green courtyard, always open to visitors, will be the "heart of De School".

De School's programmer Luc Mastenbroek has spoken to RA to provide more details about how the club will look and be run, revealing that the DJ booth will be in the crowd and the club's programming will be in-house, with line-ups focusing on local talent, although international selectors will feature.

In its first two months, Dutch DJs such as Tom Trago, Makam, Job Jobse, Interstellar Funk and Young Marco will all play, while Seth Troxler, Shanti Celeste, Barnt and DJ Sotofett are among the foreign contingent.

Speaking about the eventual plans for the 24-hour license, Mastenbroek also shared: "We're gonna start off slowly, all nights will have an open end but they won't go on forever. Sometimes a night will end around 5am, on very good nights it might be 9am or 10am.

"We're striving for a culture where people can come for 24 hours to dance, eat good food in our restaurant, chill out in the garden and see cool exhibitions, but we'll have to build that up first."
