New Tumblr blog calls out promoters for male-dominated line-ups

A Tumblr blog called A Very Male Line-Up emerged today with the sole intention of calling out promoters (or 'Bromoters' as they're referred to on the site) for booking consistently male-dominated line-ups at nightclubs and festivals.

The suspect male-heavy flyers are reposted onto the blog with a cut-and-paste image of Rihanna giving the sarky thumbs up, and Fabric, Dimensions festival and Dekmantel are all among the early guilty parties.

You can also follow the Very Male Line-Ups on Twitter, with the new account popping up late yesterday explaining the purpose of the blog.

We posted an article on Mixmag last month that highlighted the alarming levels of sexual harassment in nightclubs. The piece garnered a hugely positive response from clubbers and industry heads alike, who united against the vast gender imbalance in dance music that desperately needs to be addressed.
