New three-room nightclub to open in Frankfurt, TOKONOMA

A brand new nightclub is opening in Frankfurt next month, TOKONOMA.

Said to be focused on “sound, atmosphere, and consistency”, TOKONOMA will boast three rooms across a 1,000-square metre space, opening up on Gutleutstraße 320.

The venue will open its doors for the first time on Saturday, August 2, with a “soft opening”, bringing in the likes of Ian Pooley, Natalie Robinson, alex&tony, and ²nimble.

“We create experiences shaped by rhythm and intention. No frills — just quality music and a floor that moves,” reads a description on TOKONOMA’s website.

The venue is set to feature a garden area to host open-air events, with line-ups over the coming weeks featuring Moodymann, Shonky, Luzie, Bauguppe90, and more.

Speaking to Resident Advisor, co-founders Toan Nguyen and Fabian Annich said they're hoping to create a club that is “not only about nightlife, but also about artistic exchange, dance and culture.”

“The design takes inspiration from Japanese interiors, blending industrial textures with warm, tactile elements,” they explained.

In a new Instagram post, TOKONOMA wrote: “We believe in spaces that are more than just four walls. In sound that connects, in design that resonates, and in people who meet.”

“TOKONOMA is not a club, but a state of being, a pulse, an invitation. A place where culture is not just consumed, but lived and reimagined – between bass and concrete, between projection and connection.”
