New Sydney agency NECTAR launches with focus on developing artists

A new Sydney events and touring agency made up of a bunch respected scene players has launched with a focus on developing DJs and live electronic acts.

NECTAR has been founded by Triple J radio host and DJ Andy Garvey, Soft Centre festival founder Jemma Cole, Tia Newling from Boiler Room and FBi Radio and Amelia Jenner of radio show/record label Body Promise and FBi.

Sydney artists Body Promise, DJ Scorpion, DIN, HED Ardennes, IV Drip, Merph, Natalia and Nat James make up the group's initial roster, with a launch party planned for September 1 at a yet-to-be-revealed location following their debut earlier this year.

"We were really humbled by the response to our first event and are super excited to take NECTAR to the next level. We see NECTAR as filling a gap in the Australian music industry for an agency that is championing developing DJs and live electronic artists," the group told Mixmag.

"The four of us come with extensive experience within the industry and are wholeheartedly committed to transparency, inclusion, knowledge sharing and community growth.

"Ultimately, NECTAR will strive to create a safe and supportive community for its artists and all those that attend our events. Over the next six months, we have a lot of exciting parties planned with some of the most forward-thinking electronic musicians. We can't wait to tell you more soon."
