New streaming service means DJs don't actually have to turn up at the club
Mixify Clubcast has apparently raised $1.8 million from Australian investment
New live streaming technology called Mixify Clubcast is being developed by Mixify which can allow DJs to beam sets into nightclubs from anywhere in the world.
With Mixify Clubcast, a DJ can set up a stream on one side of the world and have it played live and direct into a club thousands of miles away on the other side.
Think this is a wind up? Nope, the project has already picked up around $1.8 million in investments from big room DJ Tommy Trash (who was one of the first to test the service), members of Ministry of Sound Australia and Australian corporate advisory firm CMB Capital.
And it's not just the crowd's eyes that will be drawn to a camera as the DJs will be able to 'read' the crowd via webcams just in case they need to switch it up to catch their attention again. Very thoughtful indeed, Mixify.
According to a statement from the company, the idea behind the platform is "breaking geographic barriers" and for artists to "reach new markets" but we're pretty sure airplanes used to (still do?) cater for these pretty well.
