Dirtybird releases ‘Flock Tapes Vol. 1’ compilation

A brand new compilation ‘Flock Tapes Vol. 1’  is out now via Dirtybird.

Spanning 17 tracks, it was written during the label’s Flight Week writing camp and event series, which folds wellness, community, and artistic collaboration into its remit.

It features label linchpins like Mz Worthy, Ardalan and Kevin Knapp alongside fresh artistic voices like DJ E-Clyps, Black V Neck and SHADED.

The label describes it as a testament to its “commitment to community, a willingness to do things differently, and a playful spirit that encourages creativity without boundaries.”

Dusk + Blackdown keep it rolling with rollage on new EP

A new extension to Dusk and Blackdown’s 130 BPM rollage series is coming out on June 19.

The ‘rollage vol.9: movin' thru’ EP is described as a “warmer, housier and more organic direction but with solid bass foundations*, powered by samples from Dusk’s collection of funk, disco and soul files.

Influences are cited as: DJ Sneak, Da Mongoloids, Basement Jaxx, speed garage and wonky LA/LDN broken beats.

Gaskin announces three-part debut album, ‘Energy Crew’

Bass Jamz co-founder Gaskin has unveiled plans for his debut album ‘Energy Crew’.

It will be released across three parts, inspired by life and clubbing experiences in his hometown Newcastle, as well as paying tribute to his childhood friend and Bazz Jams co-founder Humby who tragically died three years ago.

The release will comprise three six-parters, and features colloborations with Wildish, Ellia Jaya and Mizbee, as well as vocalists Taïya and Aaron Pfieffer.

“Energy Crew is a story built from 19 tracks that have all come together over the last two years”, Gaskin says. “It’s about the crazy journey that me and my team are on, and also in memory of my brother and co-founder of Bass Jamz, Humby, who sadly passed away three years ago. The intro to the album tells the story .. it’s about the blood, sweat and tears we’ve put into this, and how we’re now finally living the good life off the back of it all. But even after everything we’ve been through, this still feels like just the beginning.”

Part 1 is out now. Parts 2 and 3 will land later in summer.

Facta lands back on home turf with 'witness' EP

Facta is following up his 2025 album ‘GULP’ with a clubbier companion EP on the label he co-founded, Wisdom Teeth

The three-track EP ‘witness’ arrives on June 26, and closes out with a VIP dubplate version of album cut ‘SLoPE’ with vocals from MCs Warrior Queen and Killa P.

LUXE shares new single ahead of full EP next month

LUXE has announced her next EP ‘In Tales Between’ is coming out on July 10 via Mercury KX.

The four-track EP has been preceded by a lead single, ‘flow, out’, which shows her trademark blend of orchestral instrumentation and club sensibility.

Bonobo is back with a brand new album

Bonobo is releasing a new album called ‘Distance In Static’ via Ninja Tune on September 11.

The lead single is titled ‘Me and You’ and is informed by his DJ sets, bringing dancefloor impact.

The Brighton-hailing musician has also written a new live show which will begin touring in November, designed by Pierre Claude.

The album brims with global influence, with collaborators including Arooj Aftab, Joy Crookes, Nilüfer Yanya, Ichiko Aoba, Nicole Miglis (Hundred Waters) and Aanya Martin, and lyrical languages spanning English, Urdu and Japanese, plus samples from historic Iranian sources and guzheng recordings.

“I want to reinforce this idea that you can be more than one thing,” Bonobo explains. “It’s that duality – of live artist and DJ, introspective composer and club-focussed selector – that sits at the heart of ‘Distance in Static’, a record that is full of depth, detail and emotion; both beautiful and banging; quintessentially Bonobo, yet pushing beyond the contours of what a Bonobo album has traditionally been.”

Jeff Mills shares details of forthcoming album 'The Trip to Vega'

Next week (June 19) Detroit legend Jeff Mills will share his new solo album 'The Trip To Vega' via Axis.

Described as telling the story of a "deep outer space odyssey" around a "journey to the nearest star system 25.3 light years away, the new record has not been teased with a single — fans will have to wait until release day to find out more.

Carlita teams up with SOFI TUKKER on new single 'Manhattan'

Paying tribute to the Big Apple, Carlita and SOFI TUKKER have teamed up on a brand new single, 'Manhattan', which landed via Ninja Tune last week (June 10). 

Pulling in the New York City feel via effervescent house, twinkling rhythm and rowdy bass, the new track is the latest in a run of singles from the Turkish-Italian DJ and producer.

Actress shares new single with CASISDEAD 'Live By You'

Returning to Ninja Tune after a three-year hiatus, Actress has shared a new single 'Live By You' featuring vocals from none other than CASISDEAD. 

Pairing up searing bass and the rappers commanding hook, the new single follows last week's 'GABBA' — a collaborative audiovisual project with visual artist Filip Popik.
