Knucks releases sophmore album 'A Fine African Man'

Released on Friday (October 31) via ADA, Knucks shared his sophmore album and follow-up to his crtically acclaimed debut, 'Alpha Place'.

'A Fine African Man' charts his youth in Nigeria alongside his life in London as part of the African diaspora, covering themes of masculinity, identity and duality.

Alongside the release of the album, Knucks has also shared the visualiser for single 'Masquerade', which features scenes from both London and Lagos.

"A Fine African Man, or AFAM. The Igbo name given to me by my family. Afamefuna: ‘May my name not be forgotten.’ This project is two years in the making," says Knucks.

"Two years of writing, thinking, living. Long nights in studios from London, to Jamaica to Nigeria. I see this one as a continuation of Alpha Place—another side of who I am. I’m born and raised in London, but so much of who I am is because of my Nigerian heritage and the time I spent there during one of the most pivotal years of my life."

Sub Focus teams up with Grimes for Sci-fi-inspired new single, 'Entwined'

The latest unlikely duo to hit the world of dance music, Sub Focus and Grimes have just released their new collaborative single 'Entwined', which landed on Casablanca Records on Friday (October 31).

Pairing experimental sonics with full-throttle drum 'n' bass, the new track features the Canadian artist's pitched-up, ethereal vocals with pumping jump up.

“I literally could not be more hyped on Sub Focus. Dance music has felt bizarrely sterile and increasingly so over time,” shared Grimes this past summer via her social media.

“Working on some stuff for his record and it's literally hitting like the autistic sci fi shit in all the right places like it rly feels like cinematic, like I'm right in Neuromancer. But also it's genuinely euphoric. It has been so long since I've felt euphoric about dance music.”
