WARP to re-release Sabres of Paradise's 'Sabresonic' and 'Haunted Dancehall'

Two seminal albums from Sabres of Paradise, ‘Sabresonic’ and ‘Haunted Dancehall’, are set to be re-issued by Warp Records in collaboration with surviving members Jagz Kooner and Gary Burns, alongside the estate of the late Andrew Weatherhall.

Three decades on from their initial release, the two albums will be released as CD and double-LP classic editions and have been remastered by Matt Colton.

“We just thought it’s time to go back and revisit this,” says Kooner. “To let people know that it was a pivotal moment in time, not just for us, but for a lot of other people as well. These are albums that really stand the test of time. People need to hear them live. Andrew, of course, wouldn’t be with us onstage. But we like to think he’d be standing in the wings, giving us the nod.”

Morrocco is the focus of new compilation 'Place: Morrocco', curated by Bergsonist

New York-based, Morroccan-born artist Bergsonist has curated a new, 13-track compilation spotlighting Moroccan artists; entitled 'Place Morrocco', the compilation features tracks from a number of Morroccan artists including Ziryab, Cheb Runner, Jbilo, ZRK, 3xOJ, gwb9 and more.

“The selection is deliberately eclectic, spotlighting some of Morocco's most underrated musicians who are redefining the boundaries of electronic music (in my opinion). In this context, all the featured artists are best described as 'musicians/artists' rather than just 'producers'," says Bergsonist.

BICEP complete CHROMA series with ‘CHROMA 010 BRILLO’

BICEP have released the tenth and final instalment of their CHROMA single series, which launched in January 2024.

It’s fueled by a sense of gentle instability and momentum, with haunting vocals and piercing synths.

Speaking about the track, BICEP said: “As we look back on our journey with the CHROMA series, we've always aimed to strike a balance between looking to the past and embracing the future. Although we weren't part of the clubbing scene during its heyday in the 90s, being outside of it has given us a fresh perspective that's allowed us to reimagine these influences in a modern context.

“By taking elements from this era and merging them with our own sound, we've created a fusion which helps contextualise this sound in a more modern way. This approach has enabled us to stay true to the essence of the 90s while infusing it with the styles we're known for.

“This final CHROMA release, ‘BRILLO’ embodies this vision, blending euphoric, 90s-esq riffs with soulful vocals, adding a touch of softness that subtly casts a shadow over the series.”
