Iglooghost releases new five-track EP, ‘Bronze Claw Iso’

Iglooghost is back after last year’s acclaimed album ‘Tidal Memory Exo’, this time with a new five-track EP putting the producer’s vocals “front and centre”, ‘Bronze Claw Iso’.

Speaking on the release, he says: “‘Bronze Claw Iso’ is an EP powered by smog-stained mechanisms and shrivelled mollusc remains. I made it while working shifts as a crane operator as a side job. As the EP took shape, I began to suspect my crane operator job was entirely fake — and that the equipment was driven by an obscenely foul, hidden power source.”

Joy Orbison shares new single 'play it again'

After teasing the 80s new wave/90s electronica-inspired track across festivals this summer, Joy Orbison's 'play it again' has finally landed on XL Recordings.

Featuring a frenetic vocal and grinding breaks, the hypnotic track was reportedly created during the producer's appearance at San Fransico's Portola Festival last year.

"I spent the rest of the trip chipping away on ‘play it again’, I recorded some synths at Empire Studios in San Franciso, and I think the drums came together on the flight home," he says.

"Elbow deep in those mini bottles of wine and newly procured sleeping aids. This track is going to be part of something bigger but I got impatient waiting for that to come together (my fault)," he continues. "I just really wanted to have this one out there. This is where my heads at right now and there’s a lot more to come”

Gqom pioneer DJ Lag is on a mission to "expand his global sound", teaming up with Major Lazer's Ape Drums on new single 'GQTech'.

Released via Black Major x Ice Drop, the new single sees Lag pair his futuristic, boyant percussion with Drums' dubbed-out, sizzling techno.

“Diplo from Major Lazer was one of the first international artists to connect with my music, so working with Ape Drums on this track feels like a full circle moment,” says DJ Lag. “And the fact that it’s such a banger makes it even better.”

Ape Drums adds, “This record is so powerful. We both feel it bridges Afro-Tech and Gqom in a big way—and we can’t wait for the world to hear it.”
