Azumai & VECSILLE link up on ‘Bad Boy’ release on Feed the Dragon
Feed The Dragon, the Hong Kong-based collective and imprint founded by Mengzy, DJ Fu, Hocknell, and Justin Lim, has announced its second release.
The single is a collaboration between Japanese producers Azumai and VECSILLE titled ‘Bad Boy’, living up to its name with rude UKG influence, powered by a murky drop into screwface bass with an insistent vocal sample that demands gun fingers.
It marks the debut outing from VECSILLE, and new sonic territory for Azumai, who has previously released d’n’b constructions on labels like Critical Music and Ram Records.
“I always play ‘Bad Boy’ in my sets and the response has been really good, so I’m very excited to finally be able to release it. I’ve been DJing UKG for the past four years, so I channelled all that experience into making ‘Bad Boy’,” says VECSILLE.

Tectonic Sound marks 20 years with anniversary compilation
Pinch’s legendary Tectonic imprint is celebrating two decades with a 24-track compilation, ‘Tectonic Sound’.
It features a cross-section of the best names in the game for bass-loaded, soundsystem-informed music, with contributions from the likes of Pinch, Peverelist, Beatrice M., 2562, Yushh, SICARIA, Khan & Neek, re:ni, Coki, and many more.
“The last compilation series I did on the label was called Tectonic Plates, which started in 2006, and launched at a time when dubstep DJs including myself would cut 10" dubplates to play out in DJ sets. The 4th edition of Tectonic Plates came in late 2013 and across those 4 volumes you can hear the story of the UK dubstep scene developing, spreading out across the globe, later mutating into something that was referred to a lot as ‘post-dubstep’,” says Pinch. “They were a great set of compilations and I thought about reviving the series, but I realised they’ve had their time. I also thought about just doing a ‘20 Years of Tectonic’ comp, but something about that felt like it was facing back in time.
“I decided to call the comp ‘Tectonic Sound’ and bring in a new era of the label. All the tracks here are brand new amazing pieces, and almost all of them were written specifically with Tectonic's sound in mind, with the exception of 2562's track, which is one of the last tracks he wrote as 2562, over 10 years ago!”
