The Loop found MDMA pills "up to 1.5 times" the the average strength at Parklife Festival

The Loop has released its results from last weekend's Parklife festival in Manchester — having found new types of pills circulating with one even being 1.5 times more potent than the standard dose.

The organisation shared a graphic on Twitter that details the contents of the pills that they discovered — with the average MDMA pill strength being 170mg - one and a half times the standard dose

They wrote on Twitter: “New pills in ’22: The Loop tested a selection of MDMA pills for the first time at Parklifefest, our first festival of the 2022 UK summer festival season. The average MDMA pill strength was 170mg, which is 1.5 times the average adult dose.”

Bi-layer Louis Vuitton (199mg), Dollar Eyes Emoji (143mg), Small Lips Trump (188mg), Lucky Clover (208mg), Dollar Moneybag (118mg), Dutch/Canal House (160mg), Fist Emoji (223mg) MDMA, and VW Camper Van (163g) were among the tablets found by the charity.

According to Parklife's results, the majority of tablets that were supposed to be MDMA did actually contain MDMA. This is an improvement above the results from the 2021 festival season when over half of the MDMA tablets sold didn't contain any MDMA.

Researcher Jay Jackson expands on the findings of these tests at Parklife 2022 in a TikTok: "We have seen a significant reduction from the unprecedented high level of fake MDMA in circulation last year that was caused by a mixture of Brexit and Covid. It's back down to a level of around 11% and average pill strength and the range of doses are pretty much in line with historical average."

The Loop's objective is to equip partygoers and festival-goers with knowledge that can help them make safe choices and limit possible damage.

Parklife was The Loop's first official festival testing location for the summer of 2022. They plan to do on-site testing at eight events this summer, with further details to be released through their social media platforms.
