New exhibition explores vinyl album artwork by Warhol, Basquiat, Picasso
More than one hundred rare and important examples
The Fraenkel Gallery in San Francisco is hosting a new exhibition that explores vinyl album artwork made by a collection of iconic artists over the past 70 years.
The exhibition, dubbed Art & Vinyl, features over 100 pieces curated by Antoine de Beaupré and is said to be the first in-depth exhibition focusing on art specifically created for an album, composer or musician.
Featured artists include Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Barbara Kruger, Cindy Sherman, Yves Klein and many more.
The exhibition is also accompanied by a 464-pag book of the same name.
Art & Vinyl takes place at the Fraenkel Gallery from January 4 through March 8 2018. Find more information here
