Desolat label boss Loco Dice has teamed up with Dutch-based, African-inspired streetwear label Daily Paper on a tracksuit range.

Limited to only 150 pieces, the two-piece capsule sees Daily Paper's popular tape logo styles given an updated look with premium fabrics and Loco Dice x Daily Paper logo branding.

To find out more on the recent collaboration we caught up with the man himself.

Hi Loco Dice, You recently held a launch party for the range at the Daily Paper flagship in Amsterdam, how did the event go?

It was a great, intimate launch party with lots of friends, and music that caught the spirit of Daily Paper.

Where did the initial inspiration to collaborate on a capsule come about?

It was mutual inspiration. I’ve been wearing Daily Paper clothes for a long time. At some point the guys behind the label started to frequently come to my parties in Amsterdam and we became friends. I like their attitude and their multicultural background. It reminds me of my youth and my formative years. So we met on a level of mutual love for music and fashion and the collaboration was a natural step forward.

Is this your first time creating garments?

No, it’s not. For a while now I’ve been developing my merchandise line, cut and sew stuff that goes really well, but collaborations like the one with New Era, or now Daily Paper always bring new interesting moments and open new creative windows for things to come.

Was it something you’ve always had an interest in?

Yes, definitely. I was always interested in fashion and general aesthetic. For me this and music belong together.

How does the design and production process of creating a range differ you’re your time making music?

As I said, the process is similar. In fashion the visual manifestation of my ideas is naturally way more obvious, but both, music and design, are about stories. I see music and design as ways to tell them.

What challenges did you face whilst designing the collection?

The main challenge was finding the right cuts and materials, but this was a very pleasant one. I enjoyed the whole process.

Who would you most like to see wearing your clothing?

I’d like to see everyone wearing it. People with different characters and backgrounds wear clothes in their unique ways, and that’s the beauty of fashion. It inspires me.

The Daily Paper x Loco Dice capsule collection is available to purchase in-store and online via the Daily Paper website.
