A new 7,000-capacity warehouse venue is coming to London, Ironworks
The new space will feature an open-air terrace overlooking the Thames, landing this autumn
A brand new large-scale warehouse venue is landing in East London this autumn from one of the teams behind the delivery of Printworks.
Ironworks is set to open in a disused warehouse in the Royal Docks this October with a capacity of 7,000, adding to the development of the Thames Wharf site.
The venue is being developed by placemaking organisation PROJEKT and LWE, whose co-founders have been responsible for events at London venues like Turnmills, Great Suffolk Street and Tobacco Dock.

Ironworks will feature an open-air terrace overlooking the River Thames on a site formerly home to a 19th-century shipyard and iron works company.
The warehouse space will play host to an initial six shows in October, with full line-ups to be announced in June. LWE promises to welcome "some of electronic music’s most sought-after names" to the venue.
The venue itself takes over a disused space, which the operators say will be developed to feature "cutting-edge sound, lighting and visual production" while bringing forward the building’s history.

Ironworks will also host "immersive" shows, with a confirmed takeover from the Museum of Youth Culture, who will present a visual installation at the venue exploring London warehouse culture.
LWE said that they are working with local developers, creatives and businesses with a commitment to the local community, and will offer dedicated ticket access to nearby residents as well as opportunities for employment and independent food traders.
