New 3,500-capacity warehouse venue to open in Derbyshire

The 3,500-capacity venue, named Ultra, will officially launch on NYE with a new party series

New 3,500-capacity warehouse venue to open in Derbyshire

A new 3,500-capacity warehouse venue is set to open in Derbyshire this year. 

Located a stones throw from Derby city, Ultra is aiming to celebrate the "raw spirit of early rave culture" by bringing a "much-needed" venue to the county.

Ultra will officially open on New Year's Eve with a new party series, We are WHSE from the team behind Forbidden Forest Festival. The launch party will feature sets from tech house stars Max and Luke Dean, with support from Gaskin, DXNBY and more. 

While the venue is described to have a "raw, stripped-back industrial" feel, with steel girders and corrugated walls, the team behind Ultra also promise "state-of-the-art" lighting, sound and production.

“Derby has been crying out for something like this," a spokesperson for the Forbidden Forest team said in a statement. "We wanted to build something that feels real and rooted in the underground with the production and quality you’d expect from the Forbidden Forest team. We Are WHSE is exactly that."
