Held in a converted former ribbon factory in Kiev (with the same soundsystem as Frankfurt's Robert Johnson), the Strichka festival was started by our March cover star Nastia to celebrate her birthday.

This year the line-up includes Nastia herself, Lil Louis, Superpitcher, Special Request, Tama Sumo & Lakuti and Yone-Ko, as well as live sets from Aux88, PLaid & the Bee, Monolake, Electric Inidigo and Maayan Nidam featuring Julia König.

Nastia said: "In 2011, I decided to do a party for my birthday in Odessa. It was a party only for friends - Rhadoo and Abelle from Arma17 were playing - and we were partying for 24 hours. We decided to do it every year. Then three years ago, some friends were opening a new club called Closer in Kiev. I came to them in the February or March and said 'Let's do the party with you on Friday and I can go party in Odessa on Saturday for a birthday weekend.' They said 'we have this night booked already and they've booked the artists so it's not possible, but maybe we try to make a little festival and invite more artists.' I was like 'Let's do it!"

The Ukrainian DJ turns 30 at this year's edition, beginning on Saturday evening (May 20) and ending on Monday morning (May 24).
