Nachtbraker

Amsterdam's deep house don Nachtbraker is back on Dirt Crew after recording for Detroit Swindle's Heist Recordings. 'Hump' is an optimistic house groover with an infectious bassline. Add a Rhodes top-line and staccato stabs and you've got upbeat funky deepness. Title track 'Backstabber' is a peak-time houser with a heavy bass, jangly top-line and jazz-tinged breakdowns giving way to an infectious and familiar groove.

'Time Is Of The Essence' has freestyle funk keys that sit above organic grooves. The brilliantly named 'Monday Mourning' is all about jazz clips, disco samples and electronic squelches. The digi version also has the smooth, fathoms-deep track 'Yaaa'.
