The Lab NYC is Mixmag and WAV's weekly live stream and post-work unwind, powered by Void Acoustics, where we showcase the finest DJs direct from our Brooklyn office. This Friday, March 9, we welcome the Brooklyn trio N/UM for a live set in our new office location!
N/UM is a trio of artists based in Brooklyn who recently stepped out in a big way with their unique approach to live electronic music. The group is comprised of five-time Grammy Award winning mastering engineer and producer Jeremy Loucas, guitarist of world-renowned rap group Residente (Calle 13) Elias Meister and Danish multi-instrumentalist and producer Emil Bovbjerg.
Recently they released their 'YES' EP, which was recorded live by N/UM in a single take before an audience at House of Yes in Brooklyn. This provided insight into how their material possesses a unique improvisational essence, something that’s on full display in their performances. They fuse textures from classic instruments like the 808, 909, SH-101 and Mono/Poly as well as their voices and guitar to deliver masterful ballads with strong dancefloor appeal.
When N/UM steps into The Lab NYC, they’ll take listeners on a sonic excursion through gripping rhythms, dreamy atmospherics and emotive melodies.
