MUTEK returns with Dawn of Midi, Jlin and Powell
A festival where arts and technology meet
MUTEK has announced its first wave of artists along with a slew of partnerships and workshops. For its 17th Montreal edition, the festival has unveiled a loaded troupe including Dawn of Midi, Jlin, Atom™, Powell and Tim Hecker.
This year's incarnation has a heavy focus on “live and original expressions of contemporary electronic music and audiovisual arts” and has wrangled up a think tank setting with collaborators like Red Bull Music Academy, SHAPE, Resident Advisor and Bloc. Additionally, MUTEK has also unveiled a list of special projects, talks and workshops as well as a full day conference that plans to “explore the myriad artistic, technological and industry issues driving the new medium of Virtual Reality”.
MUTEK will take place June 1 to 5 at Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal. Tickets are available here, and a sample mix can be heard below.
