Msaki in The Lab Johannesburg

The Lab Johannesburg is Mixmag and Budweiser’s weekly live event where we showcase the finest DJs at iconic rooftop bar Venue Thirteen, overlooking starlit Johannesburg.

On Wednesday, July 13, we’re excited to showcase Msaki plus special guests Sebastién Dutch and Mpho.Wav. Sign up for guestlist here.

South African-born Msaki is paving the way in modern global music - and she wants people to know it. With a serene voice and excellent musicianship, Msaki knows how to make her audiences feel emotions that may have been buried deep inside. Her signature guitar playing often takes a center seat when she's performing, and she combines acoustic and electronic elements in one to fuse together her own signature sound.

From her debut album 'Zaneliza:How The Water Moves' to her double-sided album released in November 2021 'Platinumb Heart', she has been combining heartfelt lyricism with the raw and spirited energy found in protest song to create her own identity. She's release multiple award-winning dance hits including 'Fetch Your Life' with Prince Kaybee, 'Ubomi Abumanga' and 'Chasing Summer' with Sun-El Musician, and 'Sizophelelaphi' with Oskido.

Joining Msaki are Kenza and Buhle - two of South Africa's most talented rising DJs, who will be spinning tracks to get your body moving. Kenza is no stranger to a good time, and his musical awareness makes him one of the best selectors in the game. Buhle's DJing abilities makes for a great performance which always leaves dancers wanting more.
