New Moog synth teased during Super Bowl Halftime show

Rumours are circulating over an unreleased Moog synth model, seen during Sunday's Super Bowl Halftime show.

Youtuber Andrew Huang was spotted with the unreleased model during the performance on February 11, leading to speculation over the "mystery synth."

Fellow Youtuber Jexus first posted a photo of the synth at the Super Bowl Halftime show, reports Synth Anatomy, Jexus uploaded the image to his page with no info other than piano emojis.

Andrew Huang has since uploaded a photo of the synth to Instagram with a caption that reads: “Did you catch the mystery synth in Usher’s Super Bowl halftime show? Well...I’ve got it in my studio now. Thanks, @moogsynthesizers for giving me some early play time with it. Excited to share more when it launches - I think people are gonna flip over this!”

Confirmed to be Moog hardware, reports speculate on potential features — with DJ Mag writing that “the synth appears to be a “full-sized, polyphonic synth, with two oscillators and a Chord and Unison mode, which suggests some sort of polyphony.”

Synth Anatomy has since reported that the new tech, titled “Moog Mirror,” will sport “8 voices” and “will be based on the Moog Matriarch architecture. Plus, presets and effects.”

Moog was acquired by tech conglomerate inMusic last June, with sources telling The Asheville Citizen-Times that more than half of the existing roles were cut by inMusic following Moog Music’s acquisition.
