Molecule
'Hébrides (Chloé remix)'
7/10
The electro we’ve liked this month has been pretty bloody savage. We’ve concentrated on the beats that are making us quiver with delight and, although we’re hitting the peak of the summer, that doesn’t mean we can’t put on our best screwfaces.
Continuing the journey on our route of darkness, we look at Hébrides by Molecule, as the original track has been specially reworked by Chloé for a Record Store Day release.
Arriving via Milles Feuilles, it’s as intricate as it is cut-throat. It clocks in around 120bpm, and the slower nature of the tune means that all of the features are elongated to great effect. Subtle yet full of rhythm, the percussion is sublime, as are the main riffs that seem to hyperventilate and oscillate beautifully.
