Mixmag Records presents Smokin' Jo: 'Terrace Mix'
The next classic cover mix comes from Ibiza 2006
The next Mixmag Records release comes from Smokin' Jo with the classic 'Terrace Mix' from 2006.
In retrospect, this was one of the most incisive white island mixes that Mixmag delivered in the mid 2000s.
Not only did it show Jo at the peak of her powers, it also summed up a pretty special era on the island, with key club tracks of this uniquely (whisper it) minimal era all present and correct.
It's got the glitchy grooves of Guido Schneider, Booka Shade's thundering 'Trespass 06' (also a key cut for Richie Hawtin that summer) and on-point remixes and edits from Nic Fanciulli and Âme ensuring that the house music pressure is never far away. And it also features one of the biggest Kompakt anthems of all time, 'Domino' by Oxia.
