Mixmag has picked up the Exceptional Contribution Award at this year’s Electronic Dance Music Awards (EDMAs) hosted in Miami, Florida.

The annual ceremony was held on Friday, March 27, at Clevelander South Beach, awarding the “artists, innovators, and industry leaders shaping global dance music culture”.

Fans voted for their winners across 43 categories, including Dance Song Of The Year, Male and Female Artists Of The Year, Breakout Artist Of The Year, and much more.

For the very first time, the Exceptional Contribution Award was handed out this year, awarded to Mixmag and picked up by International Development Director of Mixmag, Nick DeCosemo.

“We continue our tradition of being the only major fan-voted awards platform exclusively for the electronic dance music global community that celebrates both artists and the music that underpins the dancefloor,” said EDMAs founder and executive producer Sean Hamilton.

“There couldn’t be a more deserving winner of the inaugural Exceptional Contribution Award than Mixmag,” he added. “Reaching every dance music fan on the planet, Mixmag has been a constant force, representing every genre of electronic music and helping shape the industry.”

Elsewhere, Chris Lake, Skrillex and ANITA B QUEEN picked up the Dance Song Of The Year award for their collaborative track ‘LA NOCHE’, while Carl Cox picked up the Legend Award, and Sara Landry scored the Vanguard Award.
