Ministry of Sound is bringing back '90s clubbing prices to celebrate its 33rd birthday

This year, the Ministry of Sound is throwing it back to the '90s.

To celebrate its 33rd birthday, the iconic London nightclub will be selling drinks and tickets for the price they would have been in 1991, when the venue first opened.

For each event over the next 12 months, 100 tickets will go on sale for just £5 – putting the total number of £5 tickets available at 20,000.

Meanwhile, for the first two hours of the night (between 10:PM and 12:PM) you will be able to buy a Bacardi and coke at a reduced rate (in line with '90s prices). The venue has not revealed what that will be, but we’re guessing a couple of people might be swaying by the end of the night.

The “cost of living’s got us all in a headlock,” reads a press release from the club. “But that shouldn't mean missing out on life-living and memory-making.”

“Our mission? Keep clubbing accessible, and affordable for Gen Z, Alphas, Betas, and anyone who believes in the power of club culture,” it continues.

According to a report published by Rekom UK last year, one in three young people are cutting back on nights out due to the Cost of Living Crisis.

The first events set to experience the '90s flashback will be this weekend, when Mella Dee goes B2B with Carista on Friday September 27 and Groove Armada take to the stage on Saturday September 28.

Other events planned for the coming months include Nicky Romero on October 25, Fabio & Grooverider on November 15, and Dimitri From Paris on November 23.
