Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis has revealed Longleat in Wiltshire as a potential venue for a new festival in 2019.

Eavis' daughter, Emily, spoke recently about a new event from the same team of organisers, although she didn't mention where it'd be moving to.

Her father was interviewed at the Royal Bath and West Show, though, revealing that he is in talks with Longleat, a stately home estate just 19.5 miles east of Worthy Farm, the iconic Glastonbury's current site.

"I'm talking to Longleat everyday actually, so I hope we can come to an agreement with them eventually. But we haven't done so yet. I want to see it there by 2019."

Stating that Worthy Farm is the "best place for it", he admitted that "I really do need an alternative site, no doubt about it."

According to Longleat, the move will be for one year only.

"We are in very early discussions with the festival team about the option of the festival moving to Longleat for a single year some time in the future. It is on a very, very preliminary level at this time though. We don't have anything else to add."

Lord Bath, the owner of the estate, is said to be backing the move.
