Matthew Herbert announces album made from “the sounds of a naked body”

Matthew Herbert will release a new album, titled ‘A Nude’, through his Accidental Records imprint on July 1.

The experimental producer, who recently played a DJ set of records made from food, has constructed the LP from the sounds made by a naked body across a 24-hour period, edited into eight tracks of lengths varying from several minutes to an hour.

Writing about the project, the label said: "During that time, the body does everything that humans do. It eats, sleeps, washes, wees, trims, wanks, moves, poos and so on.

"Each of these musical pieces are poses, distillations or meditations where the body itself is the soloist and Herbert the frame and canvas."
