Mary Yuzovskaya’s Monday Off shares latest vinyl-only V/A

Mary Yuzovskaya has shared the seventh V/A instalment on her Monday Off imprint.

Available now on vinyl only, the musician has welcomed Viels, ORBE and D-Leria to the record, which follows a sixth volume featuring Blazej Malinowski, Michal Wolski, Xhato and Milena Glowaka.

Viels' 'Nero' opens proceedings as a cerebral cut, with its low-end-heavy atmospheres making way for Spanish artist ORBE to deliver the hypnotic 'Rigging'; think an intriguing beep sequence combined with foreboding, exploratory sonics. On the flip, the labelhead shares 'Trouble' - a rather tripped-out affair propelled by deep dub hits and earworm vocal snippets - with D-Leria's 'Battito' completing the four-tracker in both a melodic, yet swirling, fashion.

The curation of the record feels particularly well thought-out, with occasional track elements intertwining into one another, as Yuzovskaya explains the catharsis felt in putting together the project:

"I particularly enjoy curating the Various Artists compilations, as this process reminds me of putting together a mini DJ set/mixtape, where not only the selection of the tracks, but also their order plays an important role," she tells Mixmag. "This EP isn’t an exception; I chose tracks that in my opinion compliment each other, and I also made sure that the A1 would be a perfect opener, that invites the listener to join the trip, while the B2 is that ideal emotional closer.

"Of course, I always make sure that each track will bring you joy on its own, independently, and everyone can have a different favourite and use this EP as they see fit, wether it’s a club or a home listening environment. That being said, I do recommend hearing it as a whole, from A to B. I think you’ll like the progression and the story.”
