Marvin & Guy's 'It's a Pleasure To Disco' is coming to London

Italian duo Marvin and Guy are bringing their party, 'It's a Pleasure to Disco', to London this autumn.

Kicking off at The Waiting Room on September 24, the duo will showcase an all-nighter, before two nights with special guests on October 29 and November 26.

The UK debut for the party comes after the success of the event's launch in Milan back in February, now taking place on the third Friday of each month at the city's Apollo club, which the pair dubbed their "Milan second home" in an announcement on Instagram.

"We're gonna leave behind these hard times we lived during the past two years and start again with the music we love the most!" they said in the post's caption, adding that disco "is and has always been equality and inclusivity" with a need "now more than ever" to "contribute with something real".

"We wanted to bring back a proper Disco party as it was back in the days," the pair tell Mixmag. "When we first met in our hometown in 2011, before Marvin & Guy even existed, we were running a party called “Apartment" which was everything related to underground Disco music with huge influences from masters like Larry Levan and Paradise Garage, Dave Mancuso and The Loft and so on.

"We thought we really miss that kind of environment and joy so we've started this project called "It's A Pleasure to Disco" in Milan last year, it went very well so we aim now to spread it out and bring it to some of the most important cities in Europe as a full format, starting from London!"

The concept of 'It's a Pleasure To Disco' was born as an edit series initially. Not only is it focused on what Marvin and Guy view as the core values of the genre, it also emphasises extravagant settings and clothing, focusing on the full experience whilst encouraging clubbers to "switch off your phone and dance to the music".

You can grab your tickets to the first edition of the party's London residency at The Waiting Room here, which will stretch until the early hours.
