Marshall Jefferson/ Dancer
'Lost In The Groove' (Super Rhythm Trax)
9/10
Jerome Hill takes the Marshall Jefferson classic 'Lost In The Groove' and gives it a right good going over!
Already causing murmurings on the underground, Jerome Hill's solid, jacking remake takes this to an afterparty and doesn't let it leave for days. With an intense tech groove and tormented vocals, this would be lethal in the hands of Sven Väth. Fortunately, all the red tape has been cleared and it is finally getting a proper release.
The B-side comes from Dancer (which is Acid legend Adonis & Sidney Winters); it had a mixdown by the late great Frankie Knuckles. Even though this was originally cut in 1987, it sounds amazing and totally current with this remastered edit. Essential.
