Manchester imprint Manuka releases compilation supporting suicide prevention charity
The V/A features Hypho, Samurai Breaks, Rudoh, and more
Manchester-based imprint and dubplate service Manuka has released a compilation raising funds for a suicide prevention charity.
The eight-track record, titled ‘VA MNK020’, marks Manuka’s 20th release, with all proceeds going to PAPYRUS, Prevention of Young Suicide, a UK charity promoting positive mental health and emotional wellbeing in young people.
‘VA MNK020’ features the likes of Hypho, Ethos, Sickarone, Waylo, DJ MADD, Samurai Breaks, Ooah, and Rudoh across eight tracks, venturing through breaks, jungle, bass, and 140 BPM bass-loaded sounds.

“We are very happy to announce our 20th release on Manuka, to mark this point in time we thought we would do something special and raise money for a charity called Papyrus UK who prevents young suicide in the UK,” says the team behind the imprint.
“This is a cause very close to our hearts here at Manuka & we will be giving 100% of all the Bandcamp earnings to Papyrus.”
‘VA MNK020’ is described by Manuka as a compilation of “multi-genre bass music”, each track providing “one signature sound that is Manuka".

Speaking on the release, Colorado dubstep producer Waylo explains: “I’m extremely excited and honoured to share this with you all - my tune ‘Senpai’ is out now via Manuka”.
“It’s crazy to see myself on a release amongst dons like Ooah, Samurai Breaks, DJ MADD - but the real dub here is knowing that proceeds raised from this release are going to help suicide prevention in the UK.”
